What should parents do if their children are being teased at school?

This article is different because I will first introduce a case, and then ask experts in child development for their suggestions. More info?

You send your kids to kindergarten when they are three or four. In a matter of weeks, however, they will not go to school because other children always take their favorite toys. In such circumstances, children feel resentful and may even cry or grumble when they see their mother.

Children development experts say that it’s common to see the situation described above. This is because at this age, children don’t have the ability to communicate and contact other children. They therefore grab the toys of other children to get their favorites. During this age, children are more likely than not to take toys from other people because of their strong acquisitiveness. In fact, many parents, and even kindergarteners, are unable to treat this condition correctly. It is a great opportunity for children to learn and interact with others. You should not stop the conflict when you meet such a situation as you will rob your children of their communication experience.

When your child fails in the toy competition, he or she will feel angry and may even cry before their parents and teachers. Parents, and especially mothers, feel pity. As parents, it’s important to realize that the interaction between the child and the adult is what is really failing. The children would know that other people’s needs are not always met by the experience. How can they get what they want? It is important to improve your communication skills. Smart parents will tell their children to be careful if they are crying. What should you do when your favorite toys are grabbed and abused by another child? If you tell teachers, then it’s the attitude to seek help. It’s the attitude to protect yourself if you hold the toys tight in your arms. It’s the attitude that gets sympathy if they cry. And it’s the attitude for a tolerant person if they don’t mind. Tell your children that each solution is an attitude to life, and they must choose for themselves. It is only by doing this that you can help them to improve their mental status.

If your child is teased at kindergarten, parents shouldn’t be overly tense or interfere with their belongings excessively. You just need to provide them with some guidance.
